Facing Forward

Facing forward
is the only direction that works for me.

determination, resistance, strength
that will carry me through the challenges ahead.

In my eyes....
shining stars, possibilities, optimism
that fire my soul and form a vision
of what can still be.

In my heart....
the delight of a schoolgirl,
the passion of my convictions,
