This small clay tablet from the British Museum's collection records a payment by a Babylonian officer named Nebo-Sarsekim. Nebo-Sarsekim is described on the tablet as being Nebuchadnezzar's "chief eunuch." In Chapter 39 of the Book of Jeremiah, this individual is described as being with King Nebuchadnezzar II at the siege of Jerusalem in the year 587 B.C. Click here to anthrospeak your brain.
