This small clay tablet from the British Museum's collection records a payment by a Babylonian officer named Nebo-Sarsekim. Nebo-Sarsekim is described on the tablet as being Nebuchadnezzar's "chief eunuch." Thanks so much for reposting these. Although I'm really rather envious now, it's all so beautiful and peaceful. Glad you had such a lovely time though. Any other travel plans for the rest of your summer?
Those are beautiful pictures that make me want to be outside amongst nature, rather than inside an office!
"Peaceful" is the right word, Nat. It was exactly what I needed to decompress from the school year. More travel plans? Absolutely. I'm considering a week in Scotland for my next "escape." :)
